Do You Think We Can Get Through This?
Performative installation with @jaanakristiina

Three couples, three parts of a performative installation and an insight to the after time of a catastrophy. The kind of catastrophy that makes you want scream, cry, throw things and run away. The kind of situation that makes you want to win and loose. That renders you powerless, knowing nothing at the same time as you know that you are right. The kind of happening that has you and your partner circling each other like wrestlers ready to attack.
The performative installation explores the hyper emotional state of being in the conflict of a romantic relationship, as a result of the on-going de-institutionalization and individualization of the romantic relationship in the 20th and 21st century. When romantic relationships have left the framework of (heterosexual) marriage, duty and practicality, conditions like self-fullment and sexuality become a greater part in what is seen as a successful romantic relationship. Humans in what is called the Western or Euro-American culture are expected to be rational and self aware, be intimate, romantic and passionate. They do not go through catastrophies thinking they want to attack their partners.
